Trump strategy: accuse others of own wrongdoing

Whenever you want to know what Trump is up to, just look at what he is accusing others of doing. It should be obvious to all of us now that his strategy is to attack his opponents for what he himself is doing. It could be self-loathing, we all despise what we hate in ourselves. But more likely, it’s because ‘No, I’m not. You are’ just doesn’t have the sting of a preemptive attack. Here of some of his greatest hits:

Trump complains of a rigged electoral system while actively rigging the system. He makes accusations of voter fraud when it is his supporters that are committing voter fraud; he even obliquely suggested it. At the same time he encourages tactics to intimidate minority voters, which is nothing new of course: there is and has been a concerted decades-long effort by the Republican Party to disenfranchise minorities.

Trump accused Clinton of being on drugs then came out in the debate sniffling like a coke head. He also attacked Clinton’s age and health when Trump is older and famous for his unhealthy lifestyle, and his doctor’s note was utter rubbish written in 5 minutes while he waited in the car.

Trump fanned allegations that Clinton was involved in a child-sex ring when he himself has been repeatedly accused of sexual harassment, of raping his ex-wife Ivana Trump, of attempted rape of a business partner Jill Harth, and of rape of a 13-year-old at a party hosted by his good friend Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender known as the ‘billionaire pedophile’, an allegation corroborated by a woman who was in charge of procuring adolescent women for these parties.

Trump attacks Clinton’s Wall Street ties and money in politics then appoints billionaires with heavy Wall Street ties to his cabinet, not to mention he was one of the people who had been investing in the swamp for decades.

Trump attacks illegal workers despite revelations that Melania Trump may have worked illegally when she first arrived in the country. He attacks immigrants when Trump himself comes from an immigrant family; his mother was a naturalised Scot.

Trump accuses Europe and China of currency manipulation in order to manipulate the US dollar. He attacks leaks from his administration, tweeting “Will these leaks be happening as I deal on N.Korea … ?” while photographs circulate on Facebook of him discussing North Korea’s missile tests and looking at classified documents in public over dinner.

And perhaps the most insidious of all, Trump attacks the ‘mainstream’ media of spreading fake news when he is the one lying, constantly, blatantly and unapologetically.

You don’t believe me? Just listen to his next condemnation and look at what he’s doing.

And people fall for it every time, AND CONTINUE TO FALL FOR IT!
