This extract from Tom Nichols’ The Death of Expertise gives a good overview of the intellectual terrain we’re battling through.

As Nichols writes, “Americans now believe that having equal rights in a political system also means that each person’s opinion about anything must be accepted as equal to anyone else’s,” or, as Isaac Asimov put it, “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”
